In the studio · Truro

Come and make something.

Small groups in the studio at The Gwel, with a machine each and somebody at your shoulder when it goes wrong. Materials are in the price unless a workshop's own page says otherwise.

This is a demonstration shop. The workshops, dates and prices below are real and come live from the booking system — but a booking made here is not fulfilled and no payment is taken, because the engine runs in test mode and cannot charge a card.

What is bookable now

Straight from the booking system, so a date that has gone is not on this page. Places left are real numbers, not a scarcity trick.

How a workshop day actually goes

The same shape whichever one you book.

  • Arrive from half nine

Coffee in the café first if you want it. We start properly at ten, and nobody minds if the A30 has had opinions about your morning.

  • Everything is here

Machine, thread, fabric, tools. Bring your own machine only where the workshop asks you to — and it asks because learning on the one you go home to is the point.

  • Lunch in the middle

An hour off, and the café is fifteen steps away. Tell us about dietary requirements when you book rather than on the day.

  • You leave with the thing

Finished, or close enough to finish at home with instructions that make sense a week later. Nobody goes home with a bag of offcuts and good intentions.
