The café

Lunch, and a long look at the valley.

You do not have to be booked on anything. The café is open to whoever walks in — makers, dog walkers, cyclists coming off the Truro route, and people who just wanted somewhere with a view and a decent flat white.

Tables laid in the café, with the long window and the fields beyond it

What you will actually get

This is a demonstration site. The café, the food and the prices are real — no order placed anywhere on this site is fulfilled and no payment is taken, because the engine behind it runs in test mode and cannot charge a card.

Breakfast until half eleven, then galettes and crêpes made to order all day, and a lunch board that changes with whatever the kitchen has. The coffee is Potterbeans, roasted up the road. The bread is Baker Tom's. We say that because those are the two facts worth knowing before you decide between us and the chain in town.

The awkward questions, in a line each: cards and cash both work, the kitchen is a mixed one so nothing is guaranteed gluten free, well-behaved dogs are welcome inside as well as out, and there is a two-acre field for the ones who need a run first.

Café hours

The kitchen stops when it stops — last orders are at three, and that is a real last orders, not a suggestion.
